Perfect way to start off this vid with the Tidus laugh. 20 years from now, gamers will look back on the Tidus laugh and say "Man, that scene was a certified hood classic."

It's nice to get a primer before the run, but I do feel like going through every flag in full detail was a bit excessive. More of a summary of the main ones and then explaining a bit as you go could've been nice. As interesting as it is, I don't know how impactful the knowledge of getting random statuses from Forest mushrooms is when we might theoretically never go to the Forest, for example. Minor nitpick overall, love to see an SMRPG rando and y'all have great vibes!

Yoshinori Kitase was asked about Rinoa being Ultimecia and said no, the other writers might have had something to that effect in mind but the final product released without that being a specific element of the story that was deliberately included. As for Squall being dead, Kitase confirmed definitely no, the ice shard hits his shoulder. Doesn't even take 30 seconds to explain.

A suggestion to the organizers: when you have a bunch of different folks coming in and out of a voice call, I'd strongly recommend erring on the side of too quiet for the game audio. From what I've watched of both this VOD and the XVI run so far, game audio frequently overpowers the commentators, which can make the videos challenging to watch. I know it's difficult trying to get levels right for such a long event with so many moving parts, so it would probably be safest to bias heavily towards comms, since game audio doesn't matter nearly as much, especially in a multi-stream format like this.

Interesting to see the early game completed without getting the Silver Key until after Lianport, but it's not required at that point! DW2 / DQ2 was my first RPG so it's special to me despite all the shenanigans. Great run Dr. Homes!

Wow okay... I somehow convinced my mom to buy this game for me at fricken Costco when I was like 8 yrs old and I LOVED IT.... But I grew up and lost the game and have wanted to figure out what it was called for literally decades. Every now and then I'd try and Google things I could remember, which was limited to 'it being like pokemon, but you collect herbs and are in a desert in the beginning' 😅 BUT I FINALLY FOUND A VIDEO OF THE GAME PLAY AND HOLY CRAP TODAY IS A GOOD DAY FOR MY INNER CHILD! 😃
